The Immigration Services Department has extended the period for a further thirty (30) days from 1 November 2018 for foreign nationals residing in the country to update their residential information at the nearest Immigration Department Office. This requirement to update residential information applies to all foreign nationals who are residing in Tanzania on Residence Permits (A, B or C), Dependent Passes or Exemption Certificates and who have not yet reported, submitted, and/or updated their residential addresses at the nearest Immigration Department Office.

The process of updating the residential information must be done by downloading and filling a Resident Permit Update Information Form, Dependent Pass Update Information Form or Exemption Certificate Update Information Form (the “Forms”) as may be applicable to the foreign national and the Forms may be obtained from the following link: http://www.immigration.go.tz/index.php/en/download/forms. The completed Forms must be attached with copies of the passport and the Residence Permit, Dependent Pass or Exemption Certificate as may be applicable including one (1) passport size photograph with a blue background and should be submitted to the nearest Immigration Department Office by the foreign national in person or any other person on behalf of the foreign national.

Not providing the specified information constitutes an offence and after the thirty (30) day extension period the Immigration Services Department will conduct a country wide inspection and legal measures shall be taken against all foreign nationals who will be found not to have abided with this requirement.
