In light of the current concerns about the spread of Covid – 19, the Business Registration and Licensing Agency (“BRELA”) has issued a notice (the “Notice”) informing the public that in the interest of taking precautionary measures and protecting the public and its staff against the spread of Covid – 19, beginning  from 19 March 2020 file perusal services, being the conducting of a physical search of a company file in order to obtain company information at BRELA (the “Services”), will be limited to  those members of the public who have made their request to undertake a file perusal the day prior to when they wish to avail themselves of the Services and that such Services will only be available from 08:00 am to 12:00 pm each day for the time being.

The Notice further stipulates that all requests for the Services must also be made to BRELA during the hours of 08:00 am to 12:00 pm by providing details of the company, such as the company name and its incorporation number, by email to maoni@brela.go.tz or by telephone on +255 22 221 2800, so that the physical file may be located for the next day, in order for a file perusal to be undertaken. Alternatively the public may do so by getting in touch with the following BRELA officers in the Customer Services Department:

  1. +255 713 635 988 – Mgeni Shabani;
  2. +255 712 515 489 – Sofia Chuma;
  3. +255 758 270 718 – Godfrida Kalanje; and
  4. +255 658 476 846 – Gift Zephania.

Please also note that this time restriction does not impact any of the online services that are available on the ORS at BRELA, we have been informed these are continuing as normal for the time being.
